Operation Safe Drive on 95 – The Florida Highway Patrol is working with Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina in an intense effort to keep the roadways safe. Troopers from all four states will be looking for violations from drivers of commercial cars and trucks who are speeding, following too closely, distracted driving, making improper lane changes, and as well as commercial vehicle hours of service violations to help prevent fatigued driving.
All too often the result of crashes with tractor-trailer rigs is death, massive burns and scarring, and other serious injuries including paralysis and brain damage. I’m a member of the Trucking Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice, but also of the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America (APITLA). Just recently, I attended the annual conference in St. Louis, Missouri to hear and share information about the most effective tools and strategies for interstate trucking litigation. APITLA’s motto is “Putting the Brakes on Unsafe Trucking Companies” and helping those who suffer the devastation from unsafe trucking companies, something that continues as a national epidemic on our highways.
