Nissan recalling 625,000 Altimas

Nissan is recalling 625,000 Altima mid-size sedans for faulty hood latches – the third time the automaker has dealt with problem latches. This latest recall brings the total number of Nissans and Infinitis recalled for hood latch problems to nearly 1.1 million.
The Altimas may have secondary latches that don’t hold properly. If the latch fails while the car is moving, the hood could fly open, blocking the driver’s view, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Nissan has notified the owners 2013 Altimas, 2013 and 2014 Pathfinder crossovers and 2013 and 2014 and Infiniti JX35 and QX60 crossovers for the same issue as well.
Nissan says it has no reports of crashes or injuries from the problem.
