A Pinellas County jury awarded my client $267,000 – a verdict ten times more than the insurance company’s original offer – for neck injuries stemming from a 2014 auto accident. Attorney’s fees and costs were also awarded, making the verdict in excess of the at-fault driver’s insurance policy.

My client, 43-year-old David Smith, was hit from behind as he was turning into a Clearwater shopping center at night. He suffers from neck pain and received treatment from a pain management physician and arthroscopic surgery to repair a bulging disk in his neck. His car was also damaged in the accident.

Lowball Offer

After the at-fault driver’s insurance company made a lowball offer of $25,000, Smith’s attorney, John Andreopolus of Clearwater, asked me to partner with him to bring this case to trial before a jury. It is a privilege when other lawyers trust me to collaborate with them on their cases.

It gives me great satisfaction to have helped our client get a better result after seeking justice through the court system. Four years after he was injured, the jury helped make our client whole. He will be able to pay his past medical and future medical bills for injuries that happened because of someone else’s fault.

Auto accidents happen every day and range from minor fender benders to crashes involving major injury or death. At Terrell Hogan, we represent the injured as they seek justice.
