Alan Pickert has been selected to be the Chair of the YMCA Yates Gift Giving Campaign for 2015. “I am honored and humbled by their selection of me to follow a long line of distinguished past Chairs,” said Mr. Pickert. “The YMCA is a wonderful non profit organization that touches so many lives on the First Coast through their numerous programs that help individuals on every aspect of the age spectrum from toddlers to the elderly. “
Mr. Pickert is well known in the community for his charitable efforts over the past twenty five years. He is the Past President of the Jacksonville Bar Association. He created and ran the a pro bono legal work for the homeless at the Sulzbacher Homeless Shelter for numerous years, worked with Special Olympics and Holiday in January for foster children, is the immediate Past President of a non profit for autistic individuals called HEAL (“Healing Every Autistic Life”), works with Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, and currently serves as a Board member on the Jacksonville Ethics Commission. In fact, the Florida Supreme Court chose him several years ago as the outstanding Pro bono lawyer in the Fourth Judicial Circuit
