3/8/11 Skippy Peanut Butter products have been recalled in the U.S. due to potential salmonella contamination.

A popular American brand of peanut butter has been recalled after fears arose that some of the jars may be contaminated with salmonella.
The recall covers 16 states across the United States and is in Skippy’s 16.3 ounce jars labeled with the UPC codes 048001006812 and 048001006782 with best-if-used-by dates ranging from May 16 2012 to May 21 2012.
The 16 states are – Wisconsin, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Dakota, New York, New Jersey, Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota, Maine, Iowa, Illinois, Delaware, Connecticut, and Arkansas.
Salmonella can lead to serious infections and sickness, with many suffering from cramps, fever, and diarrhea. It can be extremely deadly in infants, elderly, and people with weakened immune systems.
So far there have been no illnesses from using any of the Skippy peanut butter
