Terrell Hogan partner, Alan Pickert, continues the Terrell Hogan tradition of being active and volunteering his time for the benefit of those in the North Florida community. Alan, who is the Past President of the Jacksonville Bar Association of Lawyers and six time governor of the Jacksonville Board of Governors, was recently selected to be the Vice President of the non profit HEAL Foundation.
The HEAL Foundation (Heal Every Autistic Life), is a non profit organization that was founded here in Jacksonville in 2004 to assist families living with autism. Autism is often a long and difficult road for both the individual struggling with it as well as the individual's family. HEAL issues grants, funds programs and educational studies, helps cover the costs of therapies and provides theatre and surf camps for those on the autism spectrum.

Congratulations to our friend and Terrell Hogan colleague, Audrey Gibson, on her election as Florida’s newest state senator. Audrey served four terms in the Florida House Representatives. She succeeds Senator Tony Hill, who was appointed to serve in Mayor Alvin Brown’s administration with Chris Hand, a Terrell Hogan civil justice attorney, who is Chief of Staff to Mayor Brown. A dedicated advocate for the people of Jacksonville, Audrey has always put their needs above partisan politics, and she will continue that tradition in her expanded role in the Senate where she will represent five counties. We at Terrell Hogan will continue our association with Audrey as she takes on her new responsibilities as Senator Gibson.

Lauren Chaney and Cynthia White, legal assistant and certified paralegal to Terrell Hogan attorney Bruce Anderson, are pictured with Leonard R. Jacob, director of the Institute of Police Technology and Management, at the MADD police recognition dinner. The event honored law enforcement agencies from Duval, Nassau, Clay and St. Johns counties for efforts above and beyond the call of duty. Keynote speakers shared personal accounts of tragic loss and how they have been inspired to support MADD’s mission to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.

Wayne Hogan recently traveled to the American Bar Association meeting in Atlanta to accept honorable mention on behalf of the Summer for Undergraduates Program at his alma mater, The Florida State University College of Law. The award, the 2011 Raymond Pace and Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander Award for Excellence in Pipeline Diversity, is given for innovation and leadership in diversifying the educational pipeline to the legal profession.
